Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban

Posted by efratadenny on 25 August 2012

This week topic is Weekly Photo Challenge: Urban. I don’t go to city street. But I want to share what is next to my house in Malang City, Indonesia. There is vacant lot next to my house. Every day, there is a Buffalo come to eat grass. Off course Buffalo did not come by itself :-). You can see there are houses, cars, trees, grass, and buffalo. All mixed in this urban society where people grew up here. Did you see some bricks in this picture? In few months, I think buffalo have to move to other vacant lot.

Barbeque at Home

This time I am doing barbeque at home. I bought beef sirloin meat from Farmers Supermarket. I bought both local meat and Australia meat. Australia Sirloin price is nearly two times more expensive than local sirloin but Australia’s is more juicy than local. Besides meat, I bought frozen vegetables and frozen chips. After steaming veggies and frying potatoes, I took some pictures. I believe you will go to Australia Sirloin. 🙂

Local Sirloin:

Trip to Madura

I took some pictures during a business trip to the island of Madura, East Java, Indonesia. I had to take a flight to Surabaya first. Then I had to pass Suramadu Bridge. The Suramadu Bridge or Jembatan Suramadu, also known as the Surabaya–Madura Bridge, is a bridge with three cable-stayed sections constructed between Surabaya on the island of Java and the town of Bangkalan on the island of Madura in Indonesia. Opened on June 10, 2009, this 5.4km bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia and the first bridge to cross the Madura Strait. I took several photos of this bridge from my car.

Trip from Surabaya to Madura took me around 1 hour. After arrived at Madura Island, I can recommend you to visit below restaurants which is nearby the Suramadu Bridge. The first restaurant is Rumah Makan Jembatan Suramadu or Suramadu Bridge Restaurant. Food is quite good. This restaurant had a small pool garden for family to rest after long trip to Madura.

Warung Bebek Sinjay is also have a tasty spicy duck. You have to try. They have a special duck recipe from Madura.

Rumah Makan Rampa’ Naong is also good. They have Chicken Satay, Goat Satay, and Crispy Duck.

Finally, Good Bye Madura. You can see picture of Madura’s Mayor said Selamat Jalan or Bon Voyage before we enter the Suramadu Bridge.
