During this water droplet shooting, I put my focus on top of the splash. I think much better. However, I don’t like the grainy noise because of high ISO. In this shoot I use available light without flash. Next shoot I will use flash lighting.

I like your first water droplet shot best, because it’s not just about the water droplet! The reflections in the water add another texture and pattern. Also the sharpness of this area contrasted with the blurred bit at the back.
